Fossil Fuel Production (Coal, Oil, Gas) on Federal Lands Falls to Lowest Level in 9 Years, Since 2003
The EIA released data this week on the "Sales of Fossil Fuels Produced from Federal and Indian Lands, FY 2003 through FY 2011," with the following highlights summarized by the Institute for Energy Research:
- Fossil fuel (coal, oil, and natural gas) production on Federal and Indian lands is the lowest in the 9 years EIA reports data and is 6 percent less than in fiscal year 2010 (see chart above).
- Crude oil and lease condensate production on Federal and Indian lands is 13 percent lower than in fiscal year 2010.
- Natural gas production on Federal and Indian lands is the lowest in the 9 years that EIA reports data and is 10 percent lower than in fiscal year 2010.
- Natural gas plant liquids production on Federal and Indian lands is 3 percent lower than in fiscal year 2010.
- Coal production on Federal and Indian lands is the lowest in the 9 years of data that EIA reported and is 2 percent lower than in fiscal year 2010.

No surprise. Government is the problem, not the solution. With the regulatory environment hijacked there is no hope for any progress.
The President's message this week is that domestic production of oil is at peak and imports is at a low. What he doesn't say is that there are two simple explanations. Growing worldwide demand (China and India), and the US is just barely back to prerecession RGDP. Together they've still amounted to higher world oil prices, hence higher domestic production. It's always nice when you take credit for something you have nothing to take credit for.
If Obama changed course on his economic policies, but not his energy policies, after the 2010 election like Clinton after the 1994 election, the stronger economic recovery would've resulted in $150 to $200 a barrel oil by now.
How could such an incredibly incommpetent fool ever be allowed into the Oval Office?

Secretary Chu's testimony was quite remarkable. In his inarticulate rambling, he admitted that he had been in favor of much higher gas prices in the US but had changed his mind because high fuel prices would hold back our present recovery. So Obama appointed a man to head the Energy Department who admitted his basic beliefs were inimical to a healthy economy?
With a regime like this, is it any wonder that our economy is so shaky?
The most aggravating thing is how he lies through his teeth about a policy he and Chu have clearly articulated and implemented over the years. It's like he's never heard of Youtube:

He's heard of YouTube, but doesn't believe anyone else has, or if they have, they aren't smart enough to understand what they're watching. he is really out of touch.
