Uh, why is this new?
They've had pawn shops and classified ads for several decades, ebay for several years.
What's so special about this, other than the pitch? And the under-market prices they offer all based on their "convenience".
The pitch does cast women as shallow gold diggers. That could be their market segment.
Proposing marriage? You might want to use this wording: " Will you marry me if I give you the ring? This is a conditional statement and if marriage is not consumated then the ring probably goes back to the jilted.
Do not propose in Montana and a pre-nup is probably best that includes the ring! I am not giving legal advice and individual results may vary but I do watch Judges Judy and Marilyn.
Chances are that the consummation occurred before any ring or proposal was on the table. But not getting any after the "I do" would be a downer.
