Cool!

And for those of us with a deep interest in statistics, what is the standard deviation?

If more people saw CARPE DIEM, it would also be their #1 site for economics-finance-business to make it the top blog.

However, better posts get buried quickly. Fewer posts would solve that problem (no one commented on the recent Michael Douglas cell phone post).

Peak Trader:

The problem I have is that I can never tell ahead of time what will be the "good posts," i.e. which ones will generate lots of comments and which ones won't! I'm often surprised in both directions - sometimes thinking a post/issue is marginally interesting, but it gets tons of reaction; other times thinking a post/topic is really interesting, but it gets no reaction. So I usually try to put 4-5 posts per day, and let the readers decided!

Mark

Dr Perry, that reminds me when I sold items at the Boulder flea market in college (e.g. buying inventory by the dozen at a merchandise mart). People would buy what you wouldn't expect, and not buy what you expected they wanted. After a while, you learn how to sell the more popular and higher profitable goods (no matter how silly the hats look, e.g. for a family of four; pocket knives sitting above catalog pages taped on the table that showed over a five times higher retail price than what you paid in bulk; sunglasses, where the bottom half melted to the top half in the sun, etc.).
