this is the precise reason that mining the social graphs on facebook for affinity marketing data has proved so fruitless.

people are far to promiscuous with their "friending" for the graphs to be meaningful.

ask yourself: how many of my facebook friends would pick me up at the airport if i asked?

haha.. definitely guitly of having all the college people i met on my facebook and i dont even like them.

theres actaully a funny app called 'defriend tracker' that allows you to see your 'frenemies' that unfriend you first

You forgot total strangers who are networking. I am such a person. I would rather be FB friends with strangers than with the vast majority of people I went to high school and even college with. LOL. They are a lot nicer, more interesting, and there's no baggage between us.
