Really, your video should be titled RomneyCare, not ObamaCare.

I'd have to agree, ObamaCare would be so much worse.

Funny, countries like Canada, France and Germany seem just fine with their own versions of ObamaCare. Healthcare is taken for granted there and is far from a hot political issue.

And if ObamaCare is so bad and horrible then why are the opponents of ObamaCare so afraid of competing with the public plan. Even with the tax subsidies, wouldn't people chose the better care anyway rather than the rationed care offered under ObamaCare. Except for the fact that private healthcare is already rationed and we really have no choice anyway because we go to whatever doctors our insurance companies cover and doctors perform the procedures that only the insurance companies cover.

From people who actually know how the world works, the number one reason they are afraid of ObamaCare is because they know it will work. Bill Kristol once said that the government programs conservatives should worry most about "are the government programs that will work." And thats what universal healthcare is. If you don't believe me, see what happens if someone offers to take away Medicare away from seniors. It would be funny to see 70 year old people riot.

I think that the opponents of Government involvement aren't afraid of the competition, they're afraid of footing the bill.

Taking trillions of dollars from someone else and covering others would be working? By that standard Amtrak is working even though it loses money every year. The passengers don't cover the costs, but it "works." GM, it also works. GM customers haven't been paying enough, but billions of taxpayer dollars later and we've still got a car company.

The true test of Medicare recipient's view of the system would be to offer them a lump sum present value of their expected cost to the system and see how many take it in lieu of coverage. Because in their minds they've already paid for coverage through decades of payroll taxes when they were working. Why wouldn't they complain if it were just canceled?

The truth about the public option is the intent is to cover people who will not pay anywhere near their share of the costs. Otherwise there'd be no need to find funding for it past some startup stage. It would fund itself like regular insurance must do.

It all depends on how you define "just fine". For example, what percentage of GDP is government in Canada, France, and Germany?

Well those raised in abysmal ignorance aren't expected to know just how ignorant they are...

Now with the internet around in a practical way for at least a decade the attitudes in Canada, France, Germany, and the rest are changing and changing fast...

What will Canadian's do, when they can't come here for heart surgery, MRI's, Cancer surgery etc... since their RATIONED health care makes them WAIT for these life saving tests and procedures... WAKE UP! Socialism, Communism DOES NOT WORK, no matter how smart you think you are IT DOES NOT WORK!! and it won't work here either.
