Real Price of Gas Approaches Four-Year Low

The chart above shows the inflation-adjusted price of gas, using historical monthly data from the EIA, October gas data from the EIA here, and the current retail price of gas here. On an inflation-adjusted basis, gas is lower now than at any time since February 2005, almost four years ago.

why isn't any one talking about the failure of free markets when the oil bubble pops? Maybe we should bail them out with Detroit...

Could it be due to the fact that federal government interference in both sectors is the real reason for these supposed bubbles?
